Celebrating end of life

In Spain everything happens very fast when someone dies. Usually, though not always, the burial or cremation takes place within 48 hours.

Many people, taking this into account, will opt for a Memorial service at a later date allowing friends and family to gather from here and abroad.

With a memorial service there are no time restraints, it can be at any time and realistically anywhere. It is completely up to the loved ones left behind to arrange if the deceased person has not left a clear idea of what they want to happen.

An humanist celebration is truly personal. I have in fact had the opportunity to plan the funeral service of people who are in the last stages of illness and wish to make their own arrangements. This has been done with family participation and has been a very special way of making life end less stressful knowing that the important details are in hand.I am passionate about how death is handled and death planning which I believe is something we should all think about before we have to.

I can organise a respectful, personal send off outlining who they were, what mattered to them and how they will be remembered by those left behind. In consultation with friends and family I can prepare a fitting service to include music, poetry, readings and eulogie, usually with participation of some of the people attending the service.
